Women Empowering Women

{ Women empowering women & raising awareness for 'Help Save The Next Girl'. }

Women motivating women.

Women bettering women.

Women empowering women.

That’s what matters.

I think every one has felt like another woman has bullied them. I think every woman has felt like another woman has competed with her. I have felt like that, my girl friends have felt like that, my sister has felt like that; it needs to end.

Think about how you handled a situation today with your female co-worker. Maybe it was an instantaneous compliment on her outfit of the day, “Your sandals are too cute. I love the color!” or maybe it was a conversation that steered in the direction of body image, “Wow you look so skinny in that dress.” I’m guilty of those compliments; I’ve been comforted by those compliments, I’ve been energized by those compliments, but why are those compliments the ones we’re leaning on in times of need? Why are those the ones we’re feeding off of for reassurance? Why those compliments, ladies?

Swapping compliments for ones that fuel our souls is something I can get behind. I can back that. I can use that for energy, for fuel, for growth, for empowerment.

I want to swap; “You look so skinny in that dress” with “The way you handled that cycle class was so motivating. You are resilient,” I want to swap, “Your sandals are too cute. I love that color,” with “you give the best advice and you inspire me to be a better friend.”

Those compliments; those are the compliments I want to hear.
