I’ve been scared to type in 'lipstick and love' in my toolbar and stare at the most recent post – July. Sigh. I haven’t forgotten about my blog, but it’s almost like I’ve gone so long without writing for it – I don’t know where to begin. I feel guilty. 

This summer has been an absolute whirlwind, filled with trips to Charleston, Smith Mountain Lake, Los Angeles, Roanoke, and then tomorrow - Wilmington. As much as I say I’ll capture each trip for my blog, I never do. Maybe it’s because I’m lazy, maybe I’m living in the ‘moment’ (I prefer to use that as my excuse) or maybe I’ve just lost my touch for the summer. I guess a summer break is a thing.

It’s funny because I feel completely out of tune with what I want to say, how I want to say it and where this little blog is going to go next. I need to be better. I need to do better. I need to document, write, start my photoshoots again, but something stopped me this summer.  Although stopping hasn’t been ideal, for both you and me, it might have been the perfect little recharge I needed before the crisp fall air swoops in and my heart drops at the thought of heading back to school (I still get nervous about that – even though I’m not going back to school. Weird?). For now, I’m planning on enjoying the last few days of ‘summer’ before it passes me by.!
